Hello ladies,

We're going home...YEAH....sorry for the excitement but it's been almost two years since I've been home due to complications when I was pregnant with my daughter. Anyways I have holding on my twist. It's been five days... I know.. but that's the longest I've ever went with one style. (I can't help myself I love diversity). I'm super proud for myself. Now if I can just hold on till Friday for the my hubby's Christmas dinner than I will he satisfied. Stay tuned for a pic.
SN: Hair is itching so I am going to apply coconut oil to my roots.

What kind of towel do you use????
Being a new natural has taking me on an extended journey through the world of dos and don'ts. Through this process I have thought long and hard about using a towel. I have watched youtube videos and a lot women are versatile on the topic. My limbo was between using a towel and a tshirt, until I was reading a celebrity post who had natural hair and she said she used a curly hair towel.
What??? Wait???? A curly hair towel??? Since when??? Honestly I use a towel and a tshirt, depending on what I grab. Regardless of what I use though I do not rub my hair, I gently grab my hair with the towel or tshirt and blot the damp hair. But now I'm curoius about this curly hair towel. I did a search and this is what they had to say:
Did you know the coarse texture of a terrycloth towel promotes frizz and is too absorbent for the gentle fabric that is curly hair? The Deva Towel provides a smooth surface and absorbs just enough water allowing our styling products to set curls while keeping them defined, frizz-free and intact.
So my question is what do you use and why????

2 strand Twist on Dry hair
Hey Ladies!!!!!
So I am attempting to wear my natural hair for longer than two weeks. I did a two strand twist last week on wet hair, and it was okay but the shrinkage made them hard to style so I took them out after one day and I decided I would do a two strand twist on dry hair. And here is my results:

Let me just say that I am 5 months pregnant and I don't like to wear my hair pulled back but after looking as SimlYounique's youtube video on 5 protective styles for the winter I was inspired.
To achieve this look I washed, conditioned and than deep conditioned all with Alikay Nautral's hair products. Than I blow dried on low heat after applying both a leave-in conditioner and heat protective serum. Once complete I twisted with shea yogurt hair moisturizer (Alikay Naturals) and a little of ecostyler gel for hold.
So far it's been good. I am only on my second day of wearing it but I hope to wear it until friday (12/16). We will see :)
A protective style for little girls
So of course as everyone knows my baby girl is a natural by default (lol). We don't have the same grade of hair of course because she's part hawaiian, so everynow and than I like to see what hair styles I can achieve that will allow me to keep my hands out of it. So when she fell asleep the other night I did flat twists all around her hair adn finger coiled the ends. It came out really pretty and I thought I would share.
To achieve this look I used the water and alikay natural lemongrass leave-in conditioner.
(Next time I will use a little ecostyler gel w/ olive oil for hold)
I also used ouchless hair ties to hold them in place. It took me no time to do ladies (considering that she was sleep)

DOES SECOND DAY HAIR EXIST????
So I did two strand twist on my hair Thursday, I had every intentional on trying to wear it as a style but the shrinkage was horrible, so I decided to take it out that morning. It was beautiful.
To achieve this look, I washed with black soap, conditioned with Alikay Naturals carribean coconut milk conditioner (which I love), and deep conditioned with Honey and Sage DC. Once I was done I twisted damp hair with the lemongrass leave in and shea yogurt hair moisturizer. I left it in from 3pm till 9am the next day. And thus my hair was beautiful.
However the next day when I woke up my hair was a hot mess :( I tied it up with a satin bonnet, but I didn't work). It looked like a fro again, the back had curls but the front had lost them and the back ends were frizzing. It totally confusion I searched youtube, curlynikki.com and bglhonline.com in search of tips on how to achieve second day hair. Well I ran across a few tips.
1. When wearing 2 strand twist, retwist at night to maintain hair pattern
2. if wearing a WnG mist hair at night and sleep with shower cap

The final cut
Hello all,
Today was the day I did the big chop after eleven months into my transition I woke up this morning and decided I was going to cut my relaxed ends off and go for the new me. It was time :) Let me just say that this was a rather sporadic move for a girl like me who over thinks everything. So how did I make such a sudden decision you may ask? Simple, the new me did not allow myself to second guess it. You see ladies throughout this transition from relaxed hair to natural hair something changed in me and I think once I had my 25th birthday I was finally at that point were I was ready to do me, regardless of what anyone said. So there you have it, ladies. For those of you who wondered how I did it, this is how:
Remember I did the pre-poo last night. Well I rinsed that out and washed my hair with Renpure "my pretty hair is parched" shampoo. I lathered it and than combed. This is what it looked like with the shampoo in.

Than I rinsed that out and applied Placenta and Jojoba Oil Cholesterol for about ten minutes.

After about ten minutes I rinsed the cholesterol out and I noticed a little softness but not much. My hair was still dull. So I decided to add renpure "my hair is parched conditioner" as a leave-in mixed with shea moisture organic coconut and hibiscus conditioning curl and style milk. My hair left soft still and it curled but it wasn't the beautiful curl definition that I longed for. Plus after it started to dry certain areas in my hair were hard, which I believe had a lot to do with the renpure conditioner.

So I decided to hit Sally's beauty supply and try the new One n Only Argan Oil products because I had read some reviews and I was really interested in there products. When I got there I was tempted to buy the whole line of products minus the restorative mask, but instead I just bought the hydrating mask, curling creme and oil treatment. The associate their gave me a sample of the styling creme since they were out. So I am sure everyone wants to know how it went.
WELL.......
I went home, ordered dinner for everyone and rinsed my hair. Than I applied the argan oil hydrating mask. I left it in for ten minutes and than rinsed. Let me just say the results were GREAT!!! I immediately noticed that my hair had more shine and it was very soft and manageable.

After looking at my hair for about five minutes and admiring how the product worked I decided to flat twist it so I can wear a twist out to my son's soccer game and easter egg hunt. Doing the flat twist were rather easy. To twist them I made a part and sectioned the part in three places adding a dime size of argan oil styling creme and a drop of argan oil to each section and than twisted.

Well I took it out and lets just say that it was really pretty. I don't have the pic, because I was running late picking hubby up from the airport so I never got around to take one, but you got the idea.
